AYCE Korean BBQ AND hot pot? What a novel concept! I was leery of this combo, but count me as a believer! You can choose to get two different broths or just single for hot pot, and there's a nice variety of proteins, veg, and noodles to choose from. They have a pho broth, but it's slightly salty. I preferred the tomato broth, which had actual tomatoes in it. The KBBQ was a real treat. The cuts of short rib were so big! Loved that you could also get fried chicken on the side, which was crisp and juicy. The fried rice was dry so I'll get regular rice next time. Like the hot pot menu, the KBBQ menu had variety in meats, seafood, and veg. I'll add Wabi Q to the rotation of KBBQ places, but I wish their exhaust was stronger. Your clothes will definitely smell like your food at the end of the day, but maybe that's a good thing!
Very good Korean BBQ in the southwestern suburbs. We were both so hungry we didn't take pictures but promise to post some when we return. We both had the Korean BBQ without hot pot. The portions were substantial and will offer 1/2 portions in the second round. All of the sauces are at a sauce and ban chan bar. We got shrimp, beef rib, pork belly and bulgogi on the first round, bulgogi and beef tongue on the second round. Would definitely go back lunch doesn't offer as large a selection as dinner but if you're happy with just bulgogi it's worth the price.
This is out favorite spot to eat we actually drive nearly 30 miles to come and have done the drive happily 3x in one week. The korean bbq is fantastic. You can order 10 things each round. They keep coming with the food and service is fast when they are not busy. When they are busy it is hard to get the server's attention so you have to go to the front and ask for what you need. The hot pot is good but not amazing the traditional soup is medicinal and has weird spices that are overpowering if you eat one by mistake. The spicy one is decent. Their lamb is a bit gamey. But the beef tongue and the seafood options and quail eggs are divine. We tried to do the combo option of doing hot pot and korean bbq but it was overwhelming it is just more enjoyable to focus on one thing at a time. They have a sauce bar in the back and their recommended sauce combinations are wonderful. Regardless you can't go wrong coming here you would enjoy whatever you choose, in a nice romantic ambiance with nice table setups in a gazebo style or a booth seating.
Love the food, the people and the experience! You really get a bang for your buck! Just wish they didn't get rid of the ice cream at the end. I loved the green tea ice cream they served. Otherwise this place is certainly an awesome place to take family and friends!
Third time coming and service never disappoints. Staff and managers are very friendly and attentive from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave . Our server this time was Deyse and the last two times was Danny, both have proven to go above and beyond for their customers . Manager DANIEL came to our table greeted us and made us feel welcomed . Gotta love a place like this. Wonderful food and drinks . Bathrooms where cleaner then any other restaurant I been in . Over all will definitely keep coming back here . It's literally the perfect combination of HOT POT AND BBQ in one spot . Free parking guys don't snooze .
I finally found my go-to my K-bbq place in the Naperville and Bolingbrook area. The selection of meat is high quality. They also cut their meat evenly so that everything cooks evenly and in the same amount of time. I have been to other Asian BBQ places nearby like Gyu-Kaku in Naperville and their meats are cut in all different sizes and thickness, which makes it difficult to time everything. The bonus is that there is also Hotpot here. This is a really cool concept. I cooked the majority of my meats on the grill and then cooked the majority of my vegetables in the hotpot. It's a really fun and good combination. I will definitely be coming back. I can totally see this concept be really successful in Chinatown Chicago. Note: service can be a little more chaotic on a weekend night, if you want a slightly better experience, I would go during the weekday night instead. Or just have patience if going on the weekend.
My husband and I recently went here and enjoyed a nice dinner. We had the all you can eat hot pot and barely could get passed the first round. The food comes out quickly and service was on point! I wish they had more wine options, as I enjoy a nice glass when I go to dinner. But it's not a make it or break it! Will definitely go back to try the Korean BBQ.
It's a dream to have hot pot AND bbq at the same time. The service was friendly and amazing. All the empty dishes were cleared right away so gotta give a shoutout to the busboy. The wait staff is top notch friendly. Shoutout to Daniel. The food was great, rare to find a place that serves short ribs on the bone so that was a fave at my table.
I've been here quite a few times and I never had horrible service. Well nothing like mentioned in the other reviews. It's true that service can be a little slow but they do bring out all that you ordered. I usually do the combo of ayce hot pot and kbbq for like $35. That's per person. For the kbbq, don't load the whole grill up, you should do a few items at a time so that it can cook faster. So load it like 50% not 100%. Maybe 75% if it's able to cook well. For the hot pot, beef will cook pretty fast. Some of the other items like vegetables, chicken, pork, and seafood will take longer. That's the same way that kbbq is. There should be a guide on how long to cook it and also looking at it. There is a sauce station for dipping your meat and other items into. Parking is bountiful. This is a pretty decent place for hot pot as Happy Lamb Naperville is always busy. As for the food quality, it's not terrible but it is decent. For the ayce price, it's a bargain. If you want better kbbq, you would have to go to like Niles, Glenview, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights. In those areas if you feel like driving.
